Rip Current

A swift current that flows from a sandbar to deeper water
Real World Example
Imagine trying to leave a crowded party, but everyone is blocking the exits. Just like the frustration of navigating through a dense crowd to find an open path, rip currents occur when water piled up by waves on the shore finds a narrow escape route back to the ocean through a gap in a sandbar. In this analogy, the people at the party represent the water trapped by the sandbar, the narrow path you find to exit is the rip current, and the open space outside is the deeper water the current flows into.
