Electron Transport Chain

A protein series in cell membranes that transport high-energy electrons, this releases energy.
Video: Electron Transport Chain simple definition.
Imagine trying to charge your phone with a low battery by passing the charging cable through a series of power banks, each giving a bit more energy to ensure a full charge by the end. Similarly, in cells, the electron transport chain involves passing high-energy electrons through a series of proteins embedded in the cell membrane, gradually releasing energy to eventually produce ATP, the cell's energy currency. Just as each power bank boosts the phone's battery a little more, each protein in the chain helps release energy from the electrons, ensuring the cell's energy needs are met efficiently and effectively.
