Winter Solstice

A day in year when the South pole has its maximum tilt toward the Sun
Real World Example
Imagine trying to balance a wobbly chair by leaning it just right so one leg is perfectly positioned to touch the ground. Similarly, the Earth is like that wobbly chair, and during the Winter Solstice, it's leaning in such a way that the South Pole is closest to the Sun. Just as adjusting the chair's tilt determines which leg touches the ground, the Earth's tilt determines which pole is tilted towards the Sun, with the Winter Solstice marking the point where the South Pole gets its maximum sunlight.
