Oxidizing Agent

The substance that oxidizes another substance by accepting its electrons
Real World Example
Imagine you're at a crowded party with a limited number of chairs, and you really want to sit down. Just like at the party where you need someone to get up so you can take the seat, an oxidizing agent needs to accept electrons from another substance to complete its own 'seating arrangement.' In this analogy, the person giving up their chair represents the substance being oxidized, while you, eagerly ready to take that chair, are like the oxidizing agent accepting electrons. The act of you sitting in the chair and the oxidizing agent accepting electrons both involve a transfer that allows one entity to achieve a more stable or desired state.
