Imagine you're at a party, and there's a delicious bowl of chips in the center of the room that everyone wants to get to. Just like how some people have a knack for drawing others towards them to get closer to the chips, some atoms have a strong ability to attract electrons when they're part of a compound. The person who effortlessly gathers a crowd around them to reach the chips is like an atom with high electronegativity, pulling electrons towards itself within a chemical bond, much like how their charisma pulls people in.
