Heterogeneous Mixture
Loading image...
A mixture in which substances are not evenly mixed
Real World Example
Imagine trying to evenly spread peanut butter on a slice of bread, but the peanut butter clumps up in some areas and leaves other parts bare. This is similar to a heterogeneous mixture, where different substances are not evenly distributed throughout. Just as the bread has areas with thick peanut butter and other parts with none, a heterogeneous mixture has pockets of different substances, like how salad dressing separates into layers of oil and vinegar.
