Convection

The transfer of heat energy from a warmer area to a cooler area in a liquid or gas

Real World Example

Imagine you're at a crowded party where the room is getting uncomfortably warm, and you decide to open a window to let in some fresh air. This is similar to convection, where heat moves from a warmer area to a cooler one, like air flowing out of the window and cooler air coming in. Just as the cool breeze mixes with the warm room air, reducing the temperature, in convection, warm fluid rises and cooler fluid sinks, transferring heat and creating a more balanced temperature throughout the space.
