Solute

The substance that is dissolved to form a solution
Real World Example
Imagine trying to evenly mix sugar into your morning coffee so that every sip tastes just right. This is similar to how a solute behaves when it dissolves in a solvent to form a solution. Just like sugar (the solute) disperses throughout the coffee (the solvent) to create a uniform taste (the solution), solutes dissolve in solvents to form a homogeneous mixture.
