Real World Example

Imagine trying to organize a long string of Christmas lights that have become tangled over the year. Just as each individual bulb and wire in the string of lights work together to illuminate your home, a myofibril is a long strand of proteins that work together to form a muscle fiber, which enables your muscles to contract and function. In both cases, the individual components—be it bulbs or proteins—must be aligned and organized in a precise manner to achieve their intended purpose, be it lighting up a room or contracting a muscle.
