Real World Example

Imagine trying to assemble a piece of flat-pack furniture without any instructions. Just like you have to figure out where each component fits to build the furniture, osteoblasts are like the workers that follow a blueprint to build the strong framework of bones in your body. In this analogy, the individual pieces of the furniture are like the minerals and proteins osteoblasts use, while the completed furniture represents the solid bone structure they form.
