Real World Example

Imagine you're at a party where a balloon is being passed around, and everyone takes turns inflating it a little more. Just like the balloon eventually bursts when it can't handle any more air, a supernova is the bright explosion of a dying super giant star that can no longer sustain itself. In this analogy, the balloon represents the star, the air being blown into it is like the nuclear fuel being burned in the star's core, and the inevitable burst is akin to the star's explosive end when its core collapses under its own gravity, leading to a spectacular supernova.
