Real World Example

Imagine trying to find your car in a massive parking lot filled with thousands of vehicles. Just like most cars tend to cluster in the main parking rows, making them easier to locate, most stars in the universe fall along a distinct diagonal band on an H-R diagram known as the main sequence. This "parking row" on the H-R diagram includes about 90% of all stars, similar to how the majority of cars are parked in the main, easily accessible rows, representing where stars spend the majority of their life cycle, burning hydrogen in their cores.
