Imagine you’re at a crowded party, and the room is getting uncomfortably warm. Just like how people naturally move to cooler spots in the room to find comfort, heat energy in a liquid or gas moves from a warmer area to a cooler area. In this scenario, the people represent the heat energy, the warmer part of the room is like the warmer area of the liquid or gas, and the cooler corners of the room are akin to the cooler areas where the heat energy moves to.
