The energy of the moving particles in an object

Real World Example

Imagine you're stuck in a traffic jam, with cars bumper-to-bumper moving slowly. Just like the cars in traffic, the particles in an object are constantly moving, creating energy as they jostle around. The more the cars move, the more energy and potential for flow there is; similarly, the faster the particles in an object move, the more thermal energy is generated, causing the object to heat up.
