Imagine you're trying to see your reflection clearly in a spoon. Just like a spoon's concave surface gathers and focuses light to show your face more clearly, a reflecting telescope uses a concave mirror to collect and focus light from distant objects. In both cases, the curved surface (the spoon or the telescope mirror) captures scattered light and concentrates it to a point, allowing you to see the details more clearly.
