Real World Example

Imagine trying to get ketchup out of a glass bottle by shaking and tapping it. This is similar to how a generator works, where you need to move something to get what you want out of it. Just as shaking the bottle transforms the potential energy of the ketchup into the kinetic energy needed to flow out, a generator uses the movement of a magnet (mechanical energy) to create a flow of electricity (electrical energy).
