Endothermic Reaction

A heat-absorbing chemical reaction, like ice melting
Real World Example
Imagine trying to cool down your house on a scorching summer day. Just like your air conditioner absorbs heat from your home to lower the temperature, an endothermic reaction, such as ice melting, absorbs heat from its surroundings to proceed. In both scenarios, energy is taken in from the environment—the air conditioner draws in warm air to cool the room, similar to how melting ice absorbs heat, shifting the energy balance and leading to a cooler atmosphere or a phase change.
