Host

The organism on, or in, which a parasite lives

Real World Example

Imagine you're hosting a party, and there's that one guest who doesn't bring any snacks but eats everything you provide. Just like that guest who relies on you for food, a parasite relies on its host for nutrients and shelter. In this analogy, you're the "host" providing for the "parasite," which is the uninvited guest benefiting from your hospitality without giving anything in return, much like how a parasite benefits from the organism it's living on or in.
