Adenosine triphosphate, molecules that store energy

Real World Example

Imagine you're getting ready to head out for a long day, and you make sure your phone is fully charged to keep it powered throughout the day. Much like your phone needs a charge to function, your body relies on ATP, or adenosine triphosphate, to power its activities. Just as your phone's battery stores energy to keep your apps running smoothly, ATP stores and releases energy to fuel various cellular processes, making it the body's energy currency.
