The light-sensitive layer at the back of the eye, it contains rods and cones
Real World Example
Imagine trying to find your way through a dark room with only a flashlight to guide you. In a similar way, the retina acts like the flashlight, helping your brain "see" by detecting light and color. Just as the flashlight reveals different parts of the room, the retina's rods and cones detect light and colors, sending signals to your brain to create a visual image of your surroundings.
