Precipitation

Water that falls to Earth in any form, like rain, snow, sleet, or hail

Real World Example

Imagine you have a closet full of clothes, but every time you open the door, the clothes spill out onto the floor. This is similar to precipitation because, just like the closet can't contain the excess clothes, the atmosphere can't hold all the moisture when it becomes too saturated. In both cases, whether it's clothes or water, the overflow results in a release—clothes falling out of the closet or water falling as rain, snow, sleet, or hail onto the Earth.
