Storm Surge

A large rise in water levels caused by hurricane waves and winds
Real World Example
Imagine when you're trying to fill a bathtub quickly, but the water pressure is so strong that it splashes over the edge, flooding the bathroom floor. This is similar to how a storm surge works, where the powerful winds and waves of a hurricane push massive amounts of ocean water onto the land. Just like the high water pressure causing the bathtub overflow, the intense forces of the hurricane elevate sea levels and drive water onto the shore, leading to flooding beyond the normal tide.
