Inertia

The tendency of objects to resist any change in motion
Real World Example
Imagine trying to push a heavy couch across your living room floor. Just as the couch doesn’t want to move at first and requires a significant effort to get it sliding, inertia is the property of an object that makes it resist changes in its state of motion. In this analogy, the heavy couch represents an object at rest, your effort to push it is like an unbalanced force trying to change the object's motion, and the difficulty in getting it to move mirrors inertia's resistance to change.
