Energy Absorption
Loading image...
The transfer of energy from a wave to an object, like sound energy when it hits a wall
Real World Example
Imagine trying to carry a large bundle of groceries through a narrow doorway. Just like how you have to slow down and adjust to squeeze the groceries through the door, when a sound wave hits a wall, its energy is partially absorbed and transformed into other forms, like heat or vibration. In this analogy, the groceries represent the energy of the sound wave, the narrow doorway is the wall, and the effort needed to get through represents the energy transfer and absorption that occurs when the wave interacts with the object.
