Nekton

A marine organism that can actively swim, as opposed to those moved by the current
Real World Example
Imagine trying to navigate a crowded sidewalk where everyone is moving in different directions. Just like you choose to weave through the crowd by actively deciding your path and speed, nekton are marine organisms that can swim independently of the ocean currents, determining their own direction and pace. In this analogy, you are like the nekton, exercising control over your movement, while the passive pedestrians represent plankton, which drift wherever the crowd (or currents) take them.
