Crater

A cup-like shape that forms at the vent of a volcano

Real World Example

Imagine you're baking a cake, and as it rises in the oven, a small dip forms in the center. This dip is similar to how a crater forms at the vent of a volcano, as both involve a central depression created by forces pushing outwards. Just as the cake batter rises and pulls away from the center, leaving a sunken area due to uneven support, volcanic eruptions push magma upwards and out, causing the earth to collapse inward around the vent, leaving a crater.
