Abrasion

The wearing away of rock by other rock or sand particles

Real World Example

Imagine wearing down the soles of your favorite shoes by walking on rough pavement every day. Just as the constant friction between your shoes and the pavement gradually wears away the material, rocks and sand particles can erode larger rocks over time through repetitive contact. In this analogy, your shoes are like the larger rocks, the pavement represents the smaller rock or sand particles, and the act of walking is akin to natural forces (like wind or water) that cause the abrasion.
