A pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty, noted for abandoning traditional Egyptian polytheism

Real World Example

Akhenaton, originally named Amenhotep IV, was a pharaoh of ancient Egypt's 18th Dynasty who is best known for introducing a religious revolution. He shifted Egypt from its traditional polytheistic beliefs, which worshiped many gods, to a form of monotheism centered around the sun god Aten. This change was significant because it challenged the powerful priests of Amun and altered religious practices across Egypt. Although Akhenaton's reforms were mostly reversed after his death, his attempts at religious transformation can inspire modern ideas about challenging established norms and thinking differently. For example, people today who advocate for environmental change or new ways of thinking about technology might draw inspiration from Akhenaton's willingness to innovate and stand by his beliefs in the face of opposition.
