Dynamic Soaring

A flying technique used to gain energy by crossing the boundary between air masses of different velocity
Real World Example
Imagine you're at a crowded concert trying to navigate through the dense crowd to get closer to the stage. Just like you might weave through slower-moving people and then quickly move through open spaces to gain ground, dynamic soaring involves a bird or aircraft crossing between slow and fast-moving air masses to gain energy. In this analogy, the slow-moving crowd represents the slower air mass, and the open spaces are the faster air masses, allowing the bird or aircraft to efficiently gain speed and momentum, much like you gaining ground toward the stage.
