Measure of the force of gravity on an object

Real World Example

Imagine carrying a heavy grocery bag up a flight of stairs. Just as the bag feels heavier the more you struggle against gravity, weight is the measure of how much gravitational force is acting on an object. In this analogy, the effort you exert to lift the bag is like the gravitational pull, where the heavier the bag, the more force (or weight) you feel pulling it down.
