Measure of the force of gravity on an object

Real World Example

Imagine you're trying to carry a shopping bag full of groceries up a flight of stairs. The effort required to lift the bag is similar to how gravity acts on an object, pulling it downward. Just like the weight of the groceries determines how hard you have to work to carry the bag, the weight of an object is the measure of how strongly gravity pulls on it. In this analogy, the groceries represent the mass of the object, the stairs are like the gravitational field, and the effort you exert is akin to the force of gravity acting on the object's weight.
