Real World Example

Imagine you're packing for a vacation and you have two pairs of shoes, but your suitcase only has space for one pair. This dilemma is similar to the law of segregation in genetics, where an organism has two alleles for each trait, but only one can be passed on to each offspring during meiosis. Just like you have to choose which pair of shoes to pack, during meiosis, each parent’s alleles are separated so that only one allele is included in each gamete, ensuring that the offspring receives a single allele from each parent.
