The theory that Earth's crust is made of moving plates
Real World Example
Imagine trying to fit a jigsaw puzzle together on a table that keeps getting bumped, causing the pieces to shift around. Just like those jigsaw pieces, Earth's crust is made up of several large plates that are constantly in motion. The way the jigsaw pieces move and sometimes collide or pull apart from each other is similar to how tectonic plates behave, shifting and interacting to create earthquakes, mountains, and ocean trenches.
