Real World Example
Imagine trying to choose the right paint color for your living room, but the sample swatch looks different under various lighting conditions. Just as the true color of the paint might only be revealed when you apply it to a wall, the true color of a mineral is often best seen in its powdered form, known as its streak. Both scenarios involve revealing the authentic appearance of something by testing it under different conditions: the paint shows its true color on the wall, and the mineral shows its true color in its streak.
