Molten rock that reaches the Earth's surface
Real World Example
Imagine you're in the kitchen, and the pot of soup on the stove starts to boil over, spilling onto the countertop. This situation is similar to how molten rock, or lava, erupts from a volcano and flows across the Earth's surface. Just like the bubbling soup breaking free from the confines of the pot represents pressure and heat forcing the liquid to escape, lava is molten rock that rises from beneath the Earth's crust, breaking through to the surface due to intense pressure and heat from within the Earth.
