Trophic level explained in an easy to understand way:
Imagine you're in a multi-storey shopping mall, and you need to figure out which floor to go to for different types of stores. Just like each floor of the mall has specific types of shops and services, each trophic level in a food chain or food web has specific types of organisms, like producers or consumers. The connection here is that just as each floor in a mall supports a different shopping need, each trophic level supports a different role in the ecosystem, with energy being transferred from one level to the next, much like how money and products move through the mall.
